Cherkasy Oblast (Ukrainian: Черкаська область, romanized: Cherkas'ka oblast', pronounced [tʃerˈkɑsʲkɐ ˈɔblɐstʲ]; also referred to as Черкащина Cherkashchyna [tʃerˈkɑʃtʃɪnɐ]) is an oblast (province) of central Ukraine located along the Dnieper River. The administrative center of the oblast is the city of Cherkasy (population: 1,192,137 (2020 est.)).
